How to report an error or request removal
LocalBizInsider takes accuracy seriously. If you find a factual error in a spotlight, see information that's out of date, or want to request that your business spotlight be removed, please email us.
Email: hello@localbizinsider.com
To help us act quickly, please include:
- The business name and city
- The specific text or fact in question
- What's wrong, and what evidence supports the correction — a link, a public source, or a direct statement from the business owner
A clear subject line — for example Correction: [Business Name] or Removal: [Business Name] — helps us route your request quickly.
What we do about reports
Factual errors get corrected. When we update a spotlight, we refresh the "Last updated" date on the article and, where the change is significant, note the correction at the bottom of the article.
Editorial framing — how we describe a business, which details we include or omit — is editorial judgment, not a factual error. We consider all feedback on framing but do not commit to making every requested edit.
Verified business representatives — owners and authorized staff — receive priority on correction and removal requests. We may ask for confirmation that you are an authorized representative before acting on a request that didn't come from the business owner directly.
We aim to respond within a few business days. More involved requests may take longer.
Owner-requested removals
If you are the owner or an authorized representative of a featured business and you would like the spotlight removed, email us with your name, role, and the business name and city. We will remove the spotlight as quickly as we can confirm the request.
Removal is permanent unless the business owner later requests reinstatement.
